One of the most important factors in SEO, especially in things such as Google PR, is the amount of link backs you are able to acquire. In previous posts on this blog you can read about how to gain link backs by using Blogs and Forums as well as Social Networking websites. I'm going to focus on generating traffic by offering something of use to your visitors. There are many things free floating around the internet, and that perhaps, is one of the biggest understatements I'll make t...(read more)

5 Vote(s)

I was staring at Google.com the other as I often do and was actually getting a headache. I work in front of the computer and doing internet related tasks 99.999% of the day I spend a lot of time on our favorite search engine Google.com.I decided to put together a Google Search which is not so bright. In fact it is black. Very dark and easy on the eyes. Also doing some research on the internet, Digg (great place for research of this sort), and a lot of blog posts, I'd found a few ...(read more)

5 Vote(s)

Flash is a wonderful invention. It has its uses, it benefits many people, and its fun. That's my disclaimer. Also, I'm not a very big fan myself for a few key reasons. That's what this post is about. I am not bagging on flash in any way, but for the most part I really feel it is simply not a practical move for most websites.Search Engine OptimizationThe first point here is this. Flash does not play well with others. Meaning : An all flash website is a search engine disaster. Sea...(read more)

5 Vote(s)

This posts target audiences are self professed website designers and those in the market for quality websites.First of all I would like to say that knowledge is most definitely power. But in the same breath let me add this. With knowledge comes great responsibility. With the invention of WYSIWYG there has been an onslaught of poorly coded D.I.Y web pages introduced to the Internet. Yes... onslaught is the correct word. I had the pleasure of installing it for them as they requested to use the same blog software that I scripted up for use with this blog here.It was really neat to see how one of my projects adapted to another website. Usually the coding projects I do are tailored specifically for a certain application or website. The blog however fit in very nicely.
A common problem people often run into is file hot linking. This is caused when someone links directly to an image or file on your site, using it, without actually hosting it themselves, and in essence, robbing you of your bandwidth. This can be very irritating as bandwidth can be expensive. Here's a couple ways to prevent this.In order to make this work, you will need access to your .htaccess file.
