Freelance graphic designers are faced with the same rising prices as everyone else. With the current economic crisis beginning to bite, we're being inundated with advice on tightening our belts, saving money and cutting back on everything. But what if we just make more money?
As freelance designers, web artists and photographers, we have a major advantage over the 'great unwashed'; we can expand our expertise simply by adding a few new skills. Don't do logos? Well read up a bit on logo development and add that to your repertoire. Make websites but don't understand SEO? Then learn. And additional training in Photoshop, Illustrator or other graphics programs will never go astray. Don't cut back - find new pastures to sew.
